About WaterTrust

WaterTrust is a marketplace that connects customers with vetted water and drainage contractors across 583 UK towns. It exists to make one specific job easier: finding a competent, insured specialist for water and drainage work without ringing around, and knowing roughly what the work should cost before anyone quotes.

What WaterTrust is — and is not

WaterTrust is not a contractor and does not carry out work. When you post a job, up to four approved contractors covering your area can contact you with quotes. Whether you hire any of them is entirely your decision, and any work you agree is a contract between you and the contractor you choose — including its price, timing and any guarantee the contractor offers on their work.

How contractors are vetted

Every contractor on WaterTrust is identity-checked, with accreditation and insurance verified, before they can see or quote on any job. Customer jobs are never published openly: only approved contractors covering the relevant area can view them.

How WaterTrust makes money

Posting a job is free and quotes are free — customers are never charged. WaterTrust is paid by contractors, not by customers. We believe you should know how a service is funded before you use it: our incentive is to send contractors genuine, well-described jobs, because that is what they pay for.

Where our local information comes from

Every town page names the local water supplier and wastewater company, water hardness, and postcode districts. This is compiled from the water companies' own published coverage and hardness information, and maintained town by town. The price ranges on service pages reflect typical UK pricing for each type of work and are reviewed rather than generated — they are guides, not quotes. You can see the national picture on our water hardness, water suppliers and wastewater companies pages.
