Customer FAQ
Answers to the questions people ask most before posting a job. If you can't find what you need, you can contact support and we'll come back to you.
Posting a job
How much does it cost to post a job?
It's completely free to post a job on WaterTrust. You're never charged for submitting a job or for being contacted by a specialist.
What kinds of jobs can I post?
WaterTrust is for water and drainage work — for example water supply pipe leaks, water main repairs, lead pipe replacement, and drainage problems, for both homes and businesses.
What happens after I post my job?
Your job is shared with a small number of approved, vetted specialists who cover your area and type of work. Those who are interested can then contact you directly to discuss it. There's nothing more you need to do after submitting.
How many people will contact me?
Only a limited number of specialists can take on your job — up to four — so you get a choice of tradespeople without being overwhelmed by calls.
Your details and privacy
Who can see my contact details?
Your contact details stay private when you first post. They're only shared with a specialist once they take on your job, so they can get in touch about the work. They aren't shown publicly or sold on.
Do I have to give my email address?
A phone number is required so a specialist can reach you. An email address is optional — it just gives us another way to send you confirmation if you'd like one.
Choosing a specialist
Are the specialists vetted?
Yes. Specialists apply to join WaterTrust and are reviewed before they're approved, so the people who contact you about your job are vetted tradespeople rather than anonymous strangers.
Am I obliged to hire anyone?
No. Posting a job and being contacted puts you under no obligation. You're free to compare the specialists who get in touch, ask questions, get quotes, and choose whoever you're happy with — or no one at all.
Does WaterTrust set the price of the work?
No. WaterTrust connects you with specialists; the price, scope and terms of the actual work are agreed directly between you and the tradesperson you choose.
Cancelling or changing a job
Can I cancel a job I've posted?
Yes. When you post a job you're given a cancellation code. You can use it to withdraw your job so no further specialists take it on. Note that specialists who have already taken on your job may still contact you, as they may have already set time aside for it.
What if I've lost my cancellation code?
If you can't find your code, you can contact support and we'll help.
Getting help
How do I get in touch?
You can contact support at any time. To keep things secure, we'll email you a short code to confirm your address before your message is sent, and we'll reply to your email.
If anything here doesn't answer your question, please contact support.
